PROJECT
GOALS |
| Our
first and most significant goal for this project
is to develop a competitive first class business
meeting and conference center for our community. |
| As
a competitive facility, provide a complete range
of facilities, amenities, technology, and support
services needed now and in the future by our
perspective clients. |
| Develop
a partnership with the hospitality industry, the
local and regional business community, local
government, business, and economic development
organizations, and the like, in order to market
this business meeting and conference center and
our community, in order to attract business
meetings and conferences to Butte. |
| Develop an ongoing and increasing
revenue stream for the Butte Center for the
Performing Arts, Inc., and Masonic Temple
Association, in order that the magnificent
buildings operated by these two organizations, can
continue to be operated, and can undergo continued
restoration and upgrading, to insure their
continued service to and place in our
community. |

Project Overview | History
|

|
In
the early 1920s, the Masonic organization completed the
construction of six story
Masonic
Temple
building and
an
adjoining 1200 seat ornate Temple Theatre.
Today, the
Masonic
Temple
continues to be operated
by the Masonic Temple Association, and the Temple Theatre,
now named The Mother Lode Theatre is operated by
the
Butte
Center
for the Performing Arts,
Inc.
The
business conference center concept was initially conceived
a number of years ago by the
Butte
Center
for the Performing Arts
(BCPA). The
original idea was to offer the Mother Lode Theatre
to larger local and regional businesses to hold their
meetings and conferences.
Over the last several years, the concept has met
with some success, as an example, this facility was used
by the Montana Power Company for their corporate meetings.
At the same time, separately, The Masonic Temple
Association (MTA) has operated their building and offered
its ballroom and other meeting spaces for use by the
public and businesses alike.
The
concept of developing and marketing a consolidated-regional
business meeting and conference center, utilizing the
combined facilities of the BCPA and MTA, has been in the
planning stages for some time.
In recent months, a project management and
technology partner, Advanced Wireless Technologies, Inc.
of
Butte
, also joined the project
and is providing overall project management and advanced
telecommunications technology designs and facilities for
the Center.
Project
partners have been meeting with numerous community
leaders, local hospitality businesses and soon will be
working with numerous major area businesses, to determine
their needs and the overall needs of the hospitality
industry and our community.
