PROJECT GOALS

Our first and most significant goal for this project is to develop a competitive first class business meeting and conference center for our community.
As a competitive facility, provide a complete range of facilities, amenities, technology, and support services needed now and in the future by our perspective clients.
Develop a partnership with the hospitality industry, the local and regional business community, local government, business, and economic development organizations, and the like, in order to market this business meeting and conference center and our community, in order to attract business meetings and conferences to Butte.
Develop an ongoing and increasing revenue stream for the Butte Center for the Performing Arts, Inc., and Masonic Temple Association, in order that the magnificent buildings operated by these two organizations, can continue to be operated, and can undergo continued restoration and upgrading, to insure their continued service to and place in our community.

Project Overview | Identity |
Updated, June 25, 2006

Developing an identity for this project, especially as it relates to Butte is vitally important to our group.  Butte remains a symbol of great technology development through its mining history.  The overused term high technology is talked about by area leaders, as if it were something new to Butte .  The reality is high technology is a relative term and mining, smelting and related processes were the “highest of technologies” in terms of research, development, and related processes, during the industrialization of America .  We feel it is important for the people of Butte , the business community and our local leaders to remember and pay tribute to that fact.  There is no better way of paying tribute to the technology developed in Butte , but to incorporate a symbol of Butte ’s mining heritage, both in name and in visual presentation.  To this end, we have named our project, “The Original Heritage Center,” and have included a picture of the Original Mine as part of our visual presentation.

We believe the name given to this project, says it all....

  • Butte is the original center of America ’s industrialization.

  • Butte ’s heritage is its strong point and the soul of our community.

  • This business meeting and conference center is the original conference center project.

  • The two buildings to be used for this center represent the very best in the spirit of the people of Butte and the long history of self sacrifice by the people of Butte for our community.
